Have you ever someone tell you about the amazing benefits of using essential oils, but you were skeptical? If so, you’re not alone.
I used to be a huge skeptic of essential oils myself until I experienced the power of these little bottles first hand. Now, I’m a convert!
There are so many uses for essential oils, from stress support to boosting your mood and energy levels.
Today, I want to focus on one specific use for essential oils: support for nausea
Ginger Essential Oil
Ginger is a well-known remedy for nausea and has been used for centuries to help settle upset stomachs.
Simply add a few drops to a diffuser or inhale directly from the bottle when needed.
You can also add ginger oil to a carrier oil like jojoba oil and rub it on your stomach in a clockwise motion.
Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint is another well-known remedy for nausea.
The cooling sensation of peppermint can help ease an upset stomach and make you feel more comfortable.
Simply add a few drops to a diffuser or inhale directly from the bottle when needed.
You can also add peppermint oil to a carrier oil and rub it on your stomach in a clockwise motion.
A word of caution – peppermint essential oil is not the same thing as the peppermint extract you would find in the baking section of the grocery store. They are not interchangeable!
I would avoid buying any essential oils at the grocery store anyway – they are typically not of high quality!
Fennel Essential Oil
Fennel essential oil is steam distilled from the crushed seeds of the fennel plant.
This powerhouse essential oil has a sweet, licorice-like scent and is loaded with health benefits.
When used aromatically or topically, fennel essential oil may help reduce bloating and gas—two common digestive issues that can contribute to feelings of nausea.
Simply add a few drops of fennel essential oil to a diffuser or apply it topically to your stomach area using a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil.
Lavender Essential Oil
Lavender essential oil is well-known for its calming and relaxing properties.
When used aromatically, lavender essential oil may help ease anxiety and tension—two common causes of nausea.
You can use a diffuser to disperse lavender essential oil throughout your home or office, or apply it topically to your temples and neck areas.
Remember to always use a carrier oil like jojoba or coconut oil prior to applying essential oils directly to your skin.
Lemon Essential Oil
Lemon is another great option for those suffering from nausea.
The citrusy scent of lemon can help to ease an upset stomach and calm your nerves.
Add a few drops of lemon oil to a diffuser or place a drop on a cotton ball and inhale as needed.
There are many different ways to fight off nausea, but if you’re looking for something natural, try using essential oils!
