A Little About Me…

I am the wife of a career firefighter, mother of three, and a proud Gigi to one sweet and sassy granddaughter.

In addition to being married to a first responder, I myself have worked in the emergency services field for over twenty two years as a 911 dispatcher, shift supervisor, training and quality assurance officer, and most recently an emergency communications operator with a hospital based EMS agency.

After working in the field for so long and suffering from extreme compassion fatigue and burnout, I knew it was time for a change. I decided to further my education with  a master’s degree in trauma and crisis response so that I could help first responders with their mental health. I am passionate about helping first responders because I know that we often see, hear, and deal with some of the worst things that can happen to a person and those experiences can stay with us if not properly managed.

My drive to help first responders also includes helping their families cope with the unique challenges they face living the first responder lifestyle. The 24/7/365 demands of the job can be just as hard on the family as they are on the first responder.

It is my goal-driven mission to teach first responders and their families how to better care for themselves through simple self-care and wellness practices so they may continue to live joyfully and thrive throughout their careers and beyond.

Let’s Talk About…

Self-care is simply the steps taken to improve one’s physical and mental wellbeing.

I have tips and tricks for easy  self-care routines that you can fit into your daily routine.

There are seven dimensions to wellness that are interconnected and influence each other.

I provide resources for keeping these dimensions as balanced as possible.
